new car ideas?

I have an aging '87 5000cs Turbo (front wheel drive) with 120K and I'm
considering new car. Living as I do in the land of snow and ice (Vermont) I
really want a Quattro, possibly a wagon and I'm wondering which one. I can't
afford a brand new car, but I can spend up to 15k or so on a used one. Does
anyone have recommendations on year/model, etc? I'm used to pretty good
performance from my present car, and I don't want any less from a new
one(I'm assuming this means a turbo or V6).
