Another ho-hummin day.....
In a message dated 96-01-04 12:07:47 EST, you write:
>hey, i was only teasing, alright? :)
I knew you were trying to fire me up...... <:~)

And I don't think the diamonds are either, but look at the market, it;s 3810
curb weight, a Supra tt is 3550, the 300ZXtt is 3530, and the Vette is
3400..... And considering a M3 is 3100lbs, not sure what you think a
"sports" car is (in the Super category)..... All rear wheel drive cars vs
AWD, not much of a penalty at all, esp since the pros at audi couldn't beat
that weight penalty for AWD.... The RX7? Well maybe, but I've driven that
thing, and it is LOUD, and very thin walled, felt and looked inside like my
old 81 scirocco...... Taking the weight argument, the RX7 has it all over
the VR and yet the VR is looking at RX7 script, not dust, track or
street.....

Never made that argument, but am making the argument that lots of LESS weight
is just as bad a thing..... Sure the VR could take 500lbs off and dust
everything on the road in stock trim...... But, that argument does not sell
anymore RX7's in the world..... And to me, if you can make a pig
equal/outperform the "pillars" of competition with all that effortless
comfort, my question is, is the weight it has necessarily a BAD thing?
We audi-philes enjoy the comfort of awd, a quiet car with stereo, decent
acceleration, air bags, sunroof, toys, comfy seats, and leather and CD, cel
phone and security over bumps and being bumped that comes with a 400lb (or
more)weight penalty, some of the Luxuries that us older folks feel we
deserve..... The VR uses the same argument, at the same time however, it
lambasts the best of the supercars of the world in acceleration (not audi),
braking (not audi), and cornering (not audi); quietly listening to Segovia
picking away, that's your character argument eliot..... The envy of even the
most mild to wild of audis, me included..... And I haven't even started the
tweeks on my brothers' car ......... Yet.......
