Are you saying the term has a positive connotation today?  If so, I would
ask you to rethink a few things.  Racial slurs aren't necessary here--they
cause more than a few problems somewhere--if you doubt that, go talk to
someone in the LA County Prosecutor's office.  Yes, I am of Asian descent
(how can someone be *persuaded* into an ethnic background?  you're born with
it--better like it--it's the only one you get), and I am offended by the term.
