Could have been a trunk bolt on, about 10 minutes worth of time..... A
quattro is identified by looking at the car from underneath.... Does it have
a beam axle or a differential in the rear.... More specifically, since this
was "your" (meaning the original poster) car, if it was a q, there would be a
knob to the left of the cigarette lighter with two lights and pos 1 & 2 on
it.... There were NO quattros with autoboxes in the 5k series.... If I
remember the original post correctly, this was and autobox=nonquattro.......
Wishing it is something it's not won't change the insurance company's mind,
if it was sold to you as a q, then you can sue the owner for
misrepresentation, don't follow that with fraud to the insurance company,
it's unethical and illegal, and the gains in cash for a mis-q could be offset
so that you might as well have given it to the chop shop.... I just have a
hard time believing that anyone that owned a turbo or non turbo could NOT
know wether it is or is not a quattro....... Sounds a little more like
something for another part of cyberspace....
