RE Beddor contact

Dave,

I thought I'll call Frank and ask if he would call Ruf for me. Maybe
Ruf can go through Porsche to get me the information.

Right now my 3 yr old project is in limbo. The car is on jack stands
with all mechanicals off the car, ie f&r suspensions, f&r diffs. etc.

The engine is still awaiting reassembly. All I need is the bob weight
specification that's required for a proper balance. Getting the info
is next to impossible. This will give you an idea of what it's been
like.

Knowing what it would be like to call Detroit direct, I decided to go
through the proper channels first.

1. went to dealer for assistance (several)
result- info not avail- go away
2. ask to speak to tech rep.
   result- no- go away
3. call Audi/Detroit (knowing full well what the results would be)
result- go to dealer & go through tech rep. ( cannot talk to tech
rep direct)
4. Fax Audi/Germany and explain situation
result- received return Fax informing me to call Detroit
5. Call Detroit again, finally got a fax # for engineering in Germany.
(mentioned that Detroit gave me the # and that they were unable to
supply required info.
result- received a return Fax informing me to contact Detroit

We've called Hoppen, several tuning firms in England and approx 1/2
dozen other firms, all with no help. My freind/mechanic goes way back
with Bruno Kreibik (says he'll call Lehman for us)

This info is not top secret. It just shows what kind of attitude the
factory has (includes VW) toward customer relations. I have several
freinds who work for Honda and Toyota. Heads would roll if a customer
called corporate with a dealer complaint like this.

I'll keep you informed

This is what I have for steve. I haven't called him in a couple of
years so I am not sure if it still correct. What info are you looking
for?

I would like to hear more about your 89 engine -> 83 TQC project.
How is it coming along? I am also installing an 89 engine into my
83 TQC.
