Looking for advice
I am about to take delivery of an '87 5KCSTQ, *GRIN*, to replace my
recently departed '86 4KCSQ, :( I am fairly new to the Audi world, and am
looking for advice in upgrading this car.
I keep seeing posts about chips this, springs that, these guys are
better than those, etc, and am having a hard time figuring out where to start.
I figure that since this is a turbo car, and living in the North East, a
stainless steel exhuast might be a good place to start? I figure better flow
equals quicker spool-up from the turbo. Is this correct thinking. Can anyone
recommend a good place to look for such a beast?
Next would come a stiffer wastegate spring, no? Then chip mods. Is any
one place better that another (quality/cost) for getting these kinds of parts?
On the suspension side of things, my 4K had Eibach springs with Boge
shocks and handled great, but I have seen a couple of posts advising AGAINST
Eiback for the 5K's. Is there a consensus on a better spring/shock setup for
this car? Keeping in mind this is not a track bound vehicle, but will be a
daily driver for the winter months.
I welcome all and any advice on how to proceede with this car. I want
to make this car as fun as possible to drive.
TIA,
