radio noise

Another source of noise is poor pwer connections to the alternator.  
Installing a NAK deck in my 81 RX-7 had disapointing results.  I 
messed with grounds, low esr caps on the alternator etc. It was quite 
directly to the battery but I didn't want to do that.   It turned out 
to be a corroded connection on the fusable link from the alternator,  
not a high enough resistance to interfere with operation of the car 
but enough to turn current spikes into voltage spikes.  The built in 
 line filter didn't remove the noise.
