YES YOU DO HAVE TO REMOVE THE WHOLE HEATER,BLOWER UNIT 
BUT ITS NOT REALLY DIFFICULT!? BE PAIENT AND WHILE YOUR IN THERE 
TAKE A LOOK AT THE BLOWER MOTOR. YOU MIGHT EVEN REPLACE THE 
BRUSHES. BETTER NOW THAN LATER BECAUSE THEY WILL GO BAD.
