Well, if they're too big to fit, you can always lift the rear 
suspensions, eh? (:

By my own experience, I found mud flappers do a minimal shield against 
flying crud or speeding stones -- the protected area seems to be about 1 
inch immediately behind those flappers -- and that's about it. But I 
would think those over-sized flappers of yer trucks should help more.
