lighting upgrade for 1990 CQ ????

Listers:

I'm in the process of gathering the parts required to upgrade my Coupe Q's
lights. The short term goal is to add two relays, one low, and one high
beam for each light, following Eric Fletcher's long-ago post. My long term
goal is to replace the headlights with Euro ones.

My current problem is locating the 9004 connectors for the current
headlights. Should I just buy a pair from a junkyard, or does anyone
know of an inexpensive source for new ones??? I have tried a number
of auto parts places, such as Auto Palace, and WalMart, but have not had
any luck.

Tip for the day for the space-conscious Coupe Quattro owner, and others.
Griot's Garage makes a really neat 13" diameter tool bag, that will fit
inside the spare tire cover under your hatch. It's really well made of
heavy nylon and has room for plenty of tools. It has holders for open-ended
wrenches, sockets, screw drivers, etc, and holds them in place with velcro.
On the down side, it costs $59, but it does take alot less room than my
current tool box..
