	I just checked with my local VW dealer, and they do still have the
connection with this particular shop that rebuilds racks (I was afraid the
connection was only through the parts manager, who recently left.) The
price is somewhere around $230-240, plus shipping, and core charge

	If anyone needs one, call Dan Avery at Bob Moss VW/Mazda/Subaru, 
and tell him I sent you.  I don't stand to profit by this, but he 
probably won't sell you Audi parts with out my reference.

Could you please give me the phone number for this dealer, or the 
person who does the rebuilding?

I have a problem with my source, who 14,000 miles ago installed a 
rebuilt rack, which now leaking. they tell me that's the breaks, its 
out of warranty and I am not inclined to let the matter drop without 
a fight.

I understand that if the wrong rebuild kit is used, or if and of the 
pressure lines are hooked up wrong, even a good rebuild can be 
compromised. 

I need to speak with the rebuilder so I can strand my ground with 
these guys who would have my pennies without earning them
Can you help?

My car is an 1986 5000cs wagon
