Have you been watching me drive? Actually I only do that at stoplights,
especially to Golden Earring's "Radar Love".
I wasn't throwing stones. My point was: It's not how good or attentive a driver
you CAN be, it's how good a driver you are RIGHT NOW. He was driving too fast
for his following distance, or didn't have enough distance for as fast as he was
driving, he looked down and BOOM! Accidents is accidents, though some are more
avoidable than others. Doing the radio thing, or the phone, or the make-up, or
etc... makes the accident all the more likely; if you do these things a lot,
you're more likely to have an accident.
I have rear-ended somebody. There were, of course, mitigating factors but the
bottom line was I HIT THEM. I needed about five more feet following distance or
braking a split second earlier. Damage: them: scratch on the bumper. Me: new
headlights, new grill, new radiator support, new bumper, bruised ego.
