Clunking sound in front end. 4000q 86

I was wondering if anybody has experienced a loud clunking sound in the front
end of the 4000q. I just had new bearings put in and recently had shocks,
springs, and a arm bushings installed. I have taken it to a very good
mechanic and he pried and prodded but could not find anything wrong with
either the ball joints or tie rods. It seems to happen worst when I am
backing up a hill with my wheel turned but it even happens slightly when I am
driving down the highway at speed and I hit mild bumps. I can definately feel
a geometry change. I can also hear it when I go over speed bumps or other
sharp bumps at low speeds. Could it be the cvjoints? I have driven cars
before with bad cv joints and they clicked but only when turning. If anybody
can give me any ideas before I take it to get thing really torn apart please
give me some suggestions. Thank You
