One for the FAQ?

Ok, this is a good one.

I decided this morning to hook a boost gauge into a T at the ECU. I wnated to
see if the dash reout was for real.. I only see 1.2 most of the time. Maybe
1.3. Close to what it should be but.....

I pulled off the ECU panel/carpet. The ECU has the wires and connector sealed
up with a plastic bag! A rubber band around the ECU holds it tight. Is this
normal? Tell me you all have bags! Also found what looks like paper towel
stuffed up above the passengers feet. There seems to be a panel sealing
something. It is rectangular shaped with three plastic fasteners. For the
pedals on a RHD car?

So is this bad normal or have I bought a leaker. What could the leak be?
Windshield? Sunroof drain? It's been so wet with rain that I would have
thought maybe the carpet would be wet from the rain, but wet feet keep coming in
the car too. It doesn't fog up on the inside or smeel like a basement. Ideas?

The boost went to 5lbs. That last pound took a while. Fourth gear and 5000rpm
to get it. So it is close to what it should be. Is this worth trouble shooting
the wastegate frequency valve etc? I have a Charlie spring coming. I gues if I
don't reach the boost I should with that then there may be a problem.

The thought of water coming in from somewhere is more of a concern. The bag and
ECU were perfectly dry. No sign of humidity or anything. No obvious corrosion
either.

Comments would be welcome.
