I was wondering if any "modern day" coupe owners have dissasembled the
shift console. I am trying to figure out how to remove the plastic
pieces around the shifter as well as the plastic sides surrounding the
gauges. If anyone has done that, I'd certainly appreciate information on
how to do this.

Hi Michael,
Pull out the ashtray (for the rear passengers) which is behind the storage
tray inbetween the seats, and you will see two screws that you should
unscrew. Then lift the center console upwards and forward off the handbrake
lever.
Then unscrew the shift lever knob (counterclockwise), unscrew the bolt
directly behind the shift lever, which is on the side where you took the
center console out from and which is also away from the dash. That will allow
you to take off the leather shift boot.
There will also be two hex screws (according to Bentley, I think that they
are the hexagonal-shaped bolts) that screw in towards/into the dash, one on
either side, that you also have to unscrew, then pull the two sides away from
the center "hump" and lift upwards. It's good to invest in the Bentley at
this time - it will sort of guide you in the right direction...
I've done it once before, but I can't remember every detail...
Hope this helps!
