usta be Arizona's main speed trap.  It was late '77, I was stationed on the
USS Enterprise in Alameda, Ca - going to visit my fiancee on a weekend (880
miles each way).  I was into my 11th hour of driving, slowed from 125 to 55
to go through Eloy, then popped it back up to high speed.  The cop saw my
backup light was on as I passed thru and decided to stop me and tell me.  The
second one finally caught up - the first one sucked a valve - he was actually
jumping up and down screaming at me about his car (which was coughing and
spitting quite nicely).  It was a moment...
