Engine Noise

Mark, I am back from three weeks vacation and have a 
questions on my 1988 Audi 80 (2.0 liter)

I find that the car is quite noisy after around 65mph.  I think
it is the engine noise.  I also wonder if the fact that I have
an Ansa muffler on it has anything to do with it.  Is this
typical ? It is noisy compared to my Audi 100, Audi 5000
and several other cars.

Would appreciate any thoughts ?
