s4 heated seats

        I picked up a 93 s4 three weeks ago and I must say that it is the best
sedan I have driven.My BMW 525 is simply no match.
        That said,reliability may be a concern though.My problem is that the
drivers side seat heater has suddenly stopped working.I`ve made no effort
yet to check the obvious(fuses etc).something about Canadian winters simply
discourages tinkering for any reason short of an emerg.
        Does anyone have experience/advice that would be of benefit?
