V8s 2
I recently posted a note to our list askiing for advice on the
possible purchase of a V8. I would like to thank all who responded
with different suggestions and things to check. I took the car for a
test drive last night and found a couple of things out.
First, This car is AWESOME.
Second, the original owner had purchased the car new at the dealer the
car was for sale at(trade ffor a new A6) The car has H&R springs
Bilstein Struts all the way around, The upgraded trans software, and
some sort of chip mod that the name of escapes me now.
Also, the odometer has been replaced at 21k miles making it a 72k mile
car.
Other nit-picks, one headlight lens cracked, (not bad) half worn
bridgestone re71's. Drivers seat small crack on side bolster.
Ididn't have too bad a time negotiating with the dealer due to more
miles than was led to believe and that they had 2 of the same
(somewhat) cars.
All in all, I felt pretty good a bout the car, it's service history
and the dealer, so I bought it. Ended up at $16,300 and change OTD.
Now I'm the proud owner of a 90V8 as well as an 854ksq.

p.s. looks like I may have to part with my 83 tqc that is NEEDING a
restoration.
