cabriolet ?

I got a question that I hope someone can help me with.  I know they aren't
Audi's best cars performance-wise, but I'm interested in buying a Cabriolet
from a dealer when it comes back from leasing.    I was just curious as to
when these models began being sold in the US.   I thought '94 was the first
year, but I may be wrong.  Just a little idea that caught my fancy.   If
anyone knows, please pass the info on.   TIA.
