If you're driving Mike, just be aware that in Germany all highway directional
signs are posted towards the city that you are heading, not North, South,
East and West like we have in America.

For example, if you are heading out of Frankfurt Main Airport, and are
travelling south towards Karlsruhe on A5 (a major highway to travel out on,
near the airport), the sign will state "Karlsruhe, Basel" and the one
travelling north will probably say "/Hannover." Initially, though, it will
lead you out of the airport, giving you ALL those cities, and then you will
have to think quickly, as you will have to decide between "North" and "South"
(cities aforementioned only are listed).

Make sure your German geography is up to snuff! Study the map of Germany on
the airline booklet (I'm know Lufthansa has it, as I jsut got back on flying
them!) The rental car agencies also provide you with a map inside your car,
so if you don't have one in there, (VERY essential!) head back to the counter
and ask for one...If you need one and want to study your highways beforehand,
I can probably mail you one...
