Advertising on quattro list

First of all Dan, commiserations on the death of your quattro.  I also 
 have a 1984 80 quattro, so I fully sympathize.  Please keep the list 
 informed on its reincarnation.

I thought I should let you what I thought about advertising on the 
 list.  Obviously I don't want to wade through thousands of messages 
 selling furry dice, dubious oil additives with miraculous properties 
 etc., but I thought Peter's submission was just right.  It was a short 
 message (three lines) simply stating that something (about which 
 information had been requested) was available - there was no blowing 
 of trumpets, or false claims and it was very relevant to the list.

Presumably if one of the regular contributors had sent this message, it 
 would have been ok - so why is it not ok from the horse's mouth?

Before we get a flurry of complaints... I generally do not allow
advertising on this list but in this case it is a product that
benefits us particularly, and one which I was unaware that Superchips
carries.  In the future though, no advertising Peter.
