This sounds like the same noise my '89 100Q makes. The heat has
to have been running for a while (30-60 minutes), then it starts
making the chirping/whining/rubbing noise like crickets when I
accelerate or go up a hill. When I decelerate, it usually stops.

I suspect this is the blower fan itself eating its bearings.
There have been several articles on the list about fixing this,
but I've been too distracted to look at it yet.
