Brook, I'm in the unique position to help on this issue because I have one of both :-) My wife's silver/blue mettalic Avant has black door handles and so did my ex Cayun/Mettalic 89 100 sedan. Although the 89 100s replacement, my "wish it was here in Nuremberg with me" :-) 1990 Bamboo V8Q has painted door handles to match the car. Regards, Mike L.
