We did my Father's '86 5KCDTQ (Canadian model, hence , the "D") a couple 
years ago with Konis all around.  We set them at half way front and rear, 
for no particular reason.  It works great!  We also installed a set of 
non-Quattro Eibach springs, adn they worked great too, although I am sure 
Eric would say they lowered it too much.
