I've got a V8...almost!
Well guys, I posted a few days ago about a V8Q for sale here in town for a
ridiculously low price of $7,400. Thanks to all who gave me their comments
and opinions on this car. Anyways, I am going to try and finalize the deal
on this car tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a little bit more of a
discount...if not, I can live with their asking price. I brought the car
home with me, so there's no turnin' back now! :)
The car is a 1990 V8Q, black with gray leather interior, 140k miles,
dealer-maintained, one owner car. This gentleman is in the local symphony,
so you can imagine how particular he might be. I got hold of the service
records from the Audi dealer, and EVERY single bit of work has been done
there. Oil changes, scheduled maintenance, timing chain, all that stuff.
The man just traded it in on a '96 S6 Wagon (easier to carry his cello).
The car is in great condition, with only a few dings and scratches. The
interior is showroom clean, since the man is single and was usually riding
alone. Everything works -- all switches, lights, etc. Drives like a dream
compared to my 5kCST. Much more refined, like a Mercedes. Even has the
built-in cell phone with hands-free operation. Cool.
The reason the price is so low is because of the high mileage, but they are
all highway miles. The previous owner lived about 30-45 miles from the
city, so I can undertand why there are so many miles. I'm willing to take a
chance on it, since it has been so well-maintained.
I think this is probably about the best deal anyone from the q-list has
found on one of these, so I feel very lucky to have found this car. At
least until the Audi gods get their hands on me... ;)
