2 things that i can think of in the s4's favor...

1) manual transmission

2) 4 wheel drive.  do you know for a fact that the caddy is actually
putting down 300 bhp onto the pavement?  i kinda doubt it.  i'd say 200
bhp max, depending on the surface.  remember, this is a fwd car. 
the GM proving grounds may have a much grippier surface than where
the incident occurred.

personally, i wouldn't even consider a fwd car TC or no TC with anything
more than 200 bhp. 

plus this is winter and i don't know how cold it was when mr nivi did his
smoke job, but the s4's output would benefit immensely from the cold 
winter air.
