Re: location of oil pressure warning control unit
The oil pressure control unit on this model is intelligently plugged in relay
panel near driver's left knee! I've unplugged a few while driving down the
road in past years when the pre 88 models were popular here. Such a
technique verifies proper relay......but to be safer with the brake on, relay
is on right side of panel as I recall....been about three years and is
labeled "oldruck controlerstat" or something close to that. The nice thing
is that these Audi had the buzzer relay in parralel, unplug it and other
warning systems continue. VW's which hve warning circuit on PC board behind
speedo need a jumper wire with resistor soldered in!
