Quattro rally cars
That 200Q you saw was probably Constantine Mantopoulos. He does very well
with a
surprisingly big car. Bruno Kreibich drives a 4tqc that is probably one of
the nicest
cars on the circuit. Pat Ahr (sp?) is the guy to watch, however, with an
ex-Buffum
4tqc. He's a very agressive driver and great entertainment. There's a 90q
that is
campaigned by some guys who's names I can't pronounce or spell, but they
usually
crash or break from excessive enthusiasm. The Sprongl brothers from Canada
race
a newer model Tqc and do extremely well in the Canadian series, but only
venture to
the U.S. for selected events. There's a good web site, "Ben's Rally Page"
that I can
provide the address for if anyone's interested. There are divisional (little
guys) events
in Cheraw, SC 16-17 and Olympia, WA 23-24 of this month if anyone is up to
seeing
some rallying. First national (pro) event is April 12-14 in Olympia, WA. I
can post
Quattro results, as I follow rallying closely.
Also have an excellent source for photos of US rally cars (Q's and others).
Not sure
how you could buy them without seeing them first, but again, interested
listers get
in touch with me. I'm lucky to have a friend in a press photographer for
Sportscar
and Autoweek.
