Lights - Stuff

About the Aux low-beams:

I like Paul's idea of carrying Hella compliance documentation with
his lights! Great idea!

A note about lights - some states restrict the number of lights which
may be a) Uncovered, and b) Facing forward, at one time. Washington
state specifically limits (or did, up till 1985) the number to four.

This is seldom enforced, but places 4-light systems at a disadvantage
when it comes to aux. lights. Of course, there are plenty of good
options for 4-light systems, whether round or rectangular.

Hmmm...I just realized that some of the newer cars like Bimmers come
with 4xround and driving lights, too....if they haven't changed that
law, they'll need to. Moral: check state law before getting too
carried away.

PS: I was talking with my favorite Audi mechanic locally - he's running a
86(?) 5K with the 4 x rectangular system. I happened to mention all
the searching for alternatives we're doing - and he was surprised to
hear it. He thinks the larger lights look nice and said he had
wondered about fitting them to his car!

Atfer I screamed and rent my garments, I convinced him that he had a
MUCH better light setup than the DOT-big lights. (Also encouraged
him to check it out with the next late-model customer Audi that came
in overnight....he could drive it two blocks and see the difference).
