Wiring meltdown

My '87 5kTQ was running 60 ft of rollcage tubing to the
fabricator. There's nothing left of the interior but the drivers
seat, instrument cluster, steering wheel and lotsa wires. The 20
ft lengths of tubing fit nicely through the ski pass, still
hanging ~10 ft out the back (with a flag, of course). *BUT*,
they jiggled around alot, cleaning the insulation off several of
the wire looms that pass at the front right footwell, and presto,
tons of smoke, no ignition, stuck in rush hour traffic, -5 F and
20 mph wind.

I haven't been able to check the details, cuz it was too cold to
poke around and investigate, but two wires to the wiring block
that used to be mounted just under (to the left) of the
inst. cluster, on the dash fascia, totally melted and fused.

Are there fusible links in this thing? Sound like 30 or 15
power? I don't have the Bently (good f*&^$ luck, Steve) only the
he he Haynes, with "typical" current flow charts for 5k w/
turbo. The vehicle was towed to the fabricator, so its 45 min
drive to see it. I'm gonna track and cut out and replace the two
meltdowns on Sat when the temp *WILL* go up (please). Any other
ideas from the racers or electronics experts at this time?

TIA, Steve, Calgary
