Tars agin
I have a set of A008's on my stock 5ktq rims, and find them unacceptable on
the track or off, even in a 205/50 15..... They heat up too quickly, and to
keep them cool you need to run some serious tire pressures, and to say they
suck in the wet is the biggest understatement regarding tires.....
The BFG's I drove on a friends 90cq and found them OK, but nothing to write
home about...... I had a set of RE71 and found the tire wear a little
agressive (just hit 10k to the wear bars).....
The 509's - see Bob D'amato
The Pirellis - equal Mickies, might even be below
Dunlops are the fav in my garage.... I have the sp8000 on my car in a 205/55
16X7.5 configuration, and for occasional track events and mostly street they
are FAR above any of the others listed here...... My wife's car sports the
D40M2 which I find to be the best bang for the buck and can handle the
heavier q's with little compromise..... NEITHER of these pretend to be
snows, but definitely outhandle the others in the wet, the edge to the D40 vs
the sp's..... BTW, the tire wear on my sp's is phenomenal, considering what
I've put them thru in the last 25k..... I need to replace two, the rears are
not even half tread.... As Eric can tell you, my driving style with his
suspension and 6 track events last year, should be enough of an
endorsement.....
The only other tire I would consider would be the GY GSC's.... but for the
price, the SP''s prolly are a better performance tire...
