QTC: Honk if your horn works ...

I was replacing the horns on the car last night since I have been without
for a little while now. Plugged in the replacements ... still nothing. I
noticed that one of the horn leads was bent and touching the mounting frame;
could I have fried something? Checked out the wiring diagram for the '83
QTC, which showed the only non-connector in line from the battery is the
horn relay ... so I pulled the relay and opened it up. The contacts were a
bit pitted so I burnished them ... still no horn! Even though I could hear
the relay click as I pressed the horn button, I manually actuated the relay
to no effect. I rip out the fuse box, noting the 1984 date code ... hmmmm,
something's been replaced. As I begin to look behind the box I notice a dis-
connected red wire near a fuse. I don't expect this to fix anything, but I
hooked it up before going on ... the horn works now! Obviously someone got
religion and thought it might be a good idea to have a fuse somewhere in the
horn circuit ... but its not in the wiring diagram ...

I am wondering if anyone out there knows if this was an approved factory
repair, perhaps even a recall item? If so, is there a modified wiring list
available? I see what look like at least 4 new fuses ... I know what one of
them does, but it would be nice to know what the rest do ...

TIA!
