False Alarm:-(

Hi,

The alarm system in my 1990 Quattro Coupe is acting flakey.  More often 
than not it doesn't set.  Sometimes it set when I turn the ignition off.  
Most of the time it goes off when I enter the car however, I can reset it 
by turning the key in a door lock cylinder.  The past few times I have 
not been able to start my car.  Through a random series of setting and 
resetting the alarm, under different scenarios, I manage to get the car 
going.  I have an appointment with the dealer but until then is there 
anyway I can defeat this thing so that I can get it to the dealer.
