Re: Fake wood ? I think not.
I was at the parts department of University Audi the other day to get
two little plastic trim caps for some screw holes. Anyway the parts
lady need to go to look at my car since it didn't show the parts in
the microfiche. She started to tell me how much she love the wood trim
in cars like mine but then she also said she had a customer who came in
a month ago and wanted to order a whole set of wood trim for a 92' 100
similar to mine, she said it's listed for $2,500! She told me to be very
careful with them.
Anyway if they are fake then they must be the most expensive fake wood
in the world. For $2,500 you can probably get enough wood to build an
outdoor deck. Heck, I saw a complete mahagony bedframe for $1,000 when I
was shopping for furniture the other day! :) Now it kind of make me wonder
the cost of the carbon fiber interior trim in the S4. You can actually
get fake carbon fiber tape, I saw an act somewhere in the European Car
Magazine where they advertise tape that you tape over VW outside rearview
mirror to make it look like carbon fiber.
