Re[2]: Motor and Trans. mounts cost?

I replaced the turbo side motor mount on my '85 TQC last year and the
original fluid filled mount, was according to Audi no longer available.
They have a solid mount (no fluid) that is the "new" replacement part.
     Has anyone else experienced this?

The mechanic at the local Audi dealer who has owned a couple of TQC's and
who's opinion I respect was concerned about the new mount being able to
take the heat and stress that the fluid filled could with stand (the old
mount certainly seems more robust to look at). No problems so far. He also
recommended I wrap the top of the mount in metal foil to try and protect it
from some of the exhaust heat, this is in addition to the heat shield which
sits on top of the motor mount on the exhaust side - do not forget this
heat shield or you will be replacing mounts often! BTW the new mount is
     less expensive than the old.

I know wheel bearings and control arm bushes are available without going to
Audi (IPC and GPR have good prices). How about the sub-frame bushes, upper
strut bearings and sway-bar bushes, I need them all?

     Thanks, Mike
