The Ur-q experience...

Yesterday I took some extra time at lunch and was handed the keys
from Rick at EuroTech in Williston, VT to "sure go for a spin..."
test drive in a stock met. rose '83 real euro Ur-q. It has around 96,000mi,
and in good cond. Yaaaa dad...! "oh don't worry Rick, I'll just take it up
the street a little ways..." Ya right, I thought to myself.

Apart from the fact that it was a late '83, Vin#WAUZZZ852DA900990,
this was a true european car. It has late twin bulb euro H4/H1 lights,
short bumpers, no cat, non-working digital cluster in an early style
dash...?, 7x15 Fuchs, and a very noticeable hp difference from my '83
US spec with WG/free flow exhaust mod.~180hp USurq.

Twisted the key over to find a "black" dash that didn't work, but what
the heck he said there was gas in it... I got used to the flat Recaro in
the drivers side, threw the sun glasses on and jumped on it after I got
out of the parking lot.

The first noticeable diff. was that of how much MORE the cam sounded,
comming up on throttle.... It wasn't flat sounding like mine. The turbo
boosted about the same, but the euro coupe just came ALIVE.
(Kinda remined me of my ol '72 911RS that I had...) WOW...!! I want, I want.
Love to install a euro fuel dist., euro ECU, euro cam, euro WG spring, and just
get that stock euro 200hp...very incredible feeling. Crisp and quick.

After the quick little test session ended, I hopped back into my lowly,
USurq and was dissapointed with the fact that I'm really working that
little turbo
to get it all going... very flat feeling. (my bigas* bumpers are an eyesore
as well)

The key is to get more fuel/air with cam, etc when on boost...?
Imagine if..... a chip could find its way into that euro Urq ECU...!

ps. just opened up my fortune cookie from lunch and it say's;
"Your place in the path of life is in the driver's seat"
I don't care how crummy the weather is outside but, that just made my day.
Spring is hear, lets all work on our Audi's...!!!!
