This is the blower control module guaranteed.  I replaced the one in our
5kcst (now sold) a few years ago with one from the wrecking yard.  The used
one lasted 2 years then quit.  I then replaced it with a new one from PAP
for $60 (part # 443 820 523 A)... no more problems.  This is a five minute
or less fix.  The blower control module is held on by three phillips screws
and in located under the big piece of plastic in the cowl area under the
hood of the car.  E-mail me direct if you need more info.
