H3 Burnout

     I have H3 bulbs in my driving lights on my 90 Coupe Quattro and the 
     driver side bulb keeps burning out.  In the last 3 weeks, I have 
     replaced the bulb 3 times.  I was very carefull about not touching the 
     bulb.  This light worked fine for a year before this started 
     happening.  The bad bulb is blue and black on the inside of the 
     glasss.  Does this mean anything?  Please help.
