Re: NASCAR/ The Game

You cannot appreciate NASCAR as a showcase for technology. It ain't. It's
substantially equal cars bearing no relationship to a street car (far more
primitive), racing mostly on ovals. But a few times a year they hit Watkins
Glen and Sears Point. This is entertaining. The cars wallow, bob and weave,
but the competition is great. Road track races also separate the real
drivers (e.g. Mark Martin) from guys who are in racing because of Daddy's
last name (e.g. every permutation of Wallace & Bodine except Jethro).

I used to scoff at NASCAR as the professional wrestling of autosport. It
really is not. The drivers tend to be decent, approachable people (unlike F1
and Indy), its relatively safe, and the competition is close.

And, the NASCAR PC game is a blast.
