RE: EC article & ad for Eurospec stroker kit

different models, can you supply this info. Can I utilize the crank from my
original 82 urq?
Steve,
Don't have the data here, would have to check a Bentley; but, I believe the
following generalizations are true. Someone correct me If I'm wrong and fill
in the missing data.
For Audi 5cyl. divide the class into those with Hydraulic heads and Solid
lifter heads (just because that is when Audi seems to have made the major
changes). Solid lifter motors have a different size crank journal and a 22mm
wristpin as opposed to the 20mm pin on motors with hydraulic lifters. The
Eurovan crank uses the same crank bearings as the 2.226 L hydraulic head
motor. I can't remember which crank had the larger journal or how much the
difference. Also don't know if said crank could be machined to fit. CHECK
before investing, and make sure you get the right pistons!
