High-beam switch replacement

I had an idea for something to eliminate the likelihood that I'll break
yet another column switch module on the '88 5k simply by using my high 
beams.  My 1978 Fox has a latching relay that switched between the high
and normal patterns when the switch is actuated.  I noticed that the 
module that indicates when a headlight is out is plugged into the Aux
Relay panel, and that it appears that the headlight current passes 
through this module.  I'm wondering if anyone has looked into replacing 
the headlight checker with the latching headlight relay.  I'll be look-
ing into it myself, and I'll let you all know how it works out ...
