al's note about hella sourcing reminded me:                                     
many years ago i replaced my 4KQ headlights with euros when one was trashed     
a rock.  i believe they were bosch's.  my source was penninsula imports in      
buffalo.  i just called them for something for my GLI recently so i have the    
info handy.  (and they still sell euro headlights.)  you can reach them at      
716-833-3000 or 800-999-1209 and ask for john.  i think they get stuff from     
europe through their toronto store and ship it out of their buffalo store.
