My 'new' 88 5KTQ has GREAT AM reception! This is surprising because all
other Audis I've owned (84-87) have had terrible AM reception. I've always
thought it might just be marginal/intermittent antenna cable problems with
the other Audis and not a problem with the receiver itself. The fact that
the same type of radio works great in the 88 tends to confirm that the
typical problem might just be bad antenna cables. FM is far more tolerant of
bad cables & connectors Vs AM.

Thoughts?
