Probably because of the cost of the track rental & insurance.  I don't know 
about Lime Rock (it's probably comparative), but Watkins Glen this year will 
cost the Quattro club $4500 per day, just for track rental.  Add about 
$1100/day for insurance (mandatory).  Throw in some admin. cost, postage & 
misc other charges and voila, Huge dollars.  Based on the Watkins Glen 
figures you would need about 100 people @ $65 /day to break even. Given that 
everybody wants LOTS of track time, 80 students is a more reasonable #.  Any 
more than that and it just becomes too cumbersome to deal with.  Hence the 
cost.  Besides most clubs want to make some money, not just break even.   
Anyway that's my $.02 worth.
