auto check display-mind of its own

Recently, display indicated low washer fluid. Next morning, display 
went haywire.  Flashing unintelligible symbols.  Then later, shifted 
back to OK.  Next day, same thing, but worse.  Vertical and diagonal 
lines, culminating in 3 horizontal lines (like triple flat EKG).  
Added washer fluid and presto- all back to normal.   Is this just a 
quirk,  do I have some corroded contacts on board or in washer sensor,
 or Audi gods just testing me?
