Re: Torsen Stuff

I have driven my '90 80Q in all kinds of "slippery situations" since June
of 1990. The worst has been in the mountains of West Virginia on the way
to Fla., up to Vermont, and through Colorado and Utah. Recently I have
made several trips to Tahoe and other California mountain areas, all in
snow, ice, sleet and other nastiness.

I have never had a problem with traction, up or down hills. I have driven
too fast in these conditions (with and without chains) and have not had a
problem. Perhaps it is my strange tire config: L (f+r) Pirelli P6's and R
(f+r) Goodyear Eagle GT+4's. Really though, I know this has nothing to do
with it, but nonetheless the only problem I ever had was a spin out in the
rain after hard braking. The problem: bald tires and too much speed.

Friends with SUV's have had more problems in Tahoe than I have had.
