Re: Non-Audi, but German...
I'm not directin' this at you in particular, Unda Bart, but aren't we
pickin' on the wrong guys? Doesn't the phrase VW/Audi/Porsche have any
respect anymore? Lesse...now who was it that built that RS2
Rocketship...? Well darned if Audi didn't ship the driveline to Porsche
and VW didn't ship the body to Porsche and Porsche put the whole thing
together - with the addition of their special formula turbocharging and
968 wheels and brakes. Gee, how come the Audi I5 only makes 227 bhp in
the S4, but the one Porsche built makes 315 bhp? How come the
Porsche-built RS2 hits 60 mph in under 5 seconds and tops out at over 160
mph, while Audi's S2 Avant is a little over 6 sec and somewhere around
145 respectively. (Or maybe VW sent the drivelines and Audi sent the bodies)
Come on guys, we're on the same team here. I don't know about y'all, but
I still dream of 959's and 911 twin turbo widebodies. I still whip my
head around in awe of a well tuned GTi 16V Golf. And, yes, I plan to
purchase an S4 with Carbon Fiber interior some day when I get out of school
