Re: Subwoofer <clarification, long>
Being a former installer.... My sugestion would be first of all
find out the name of the Amplifer, model number, etc. This will allow you
to get some specs about its power output and the different wiring
configurations. It may be possible that the Amplifer which is powering
the speakers in the rear deck can be run in a 3 channel mode. this would
allow you to use the current Amp and speakers setup plus add the
subwoofer. Also something to take into consideration (and if I am getting
over your head please let me know and I will explain) you do not want to
lower the resistance or ohm load to a level in wich the amp cannot
handle. If you can find out about the amp I might be able to tell you
more about it..
One question, you said the system was pro-installed. does the
radio still come on without the ignition on? While I wa working for a
retail store B*** B**, We had to wire an ignition lead for all cars that
did not have one.. Just curious, I'll bet with someof the equipment you
mentioned the system was installed at a stereo shop..
