As luck would have it, I just got some info on these recently. What
Goodyear did was reduce the sidewall and make it rather stiff, then they
used a moderate compound to produce a very deep tread. These tire were not
intended for high speed use nor would I try to use them as high performance
tires. They were intended to last a looong time, and that they probably
will do.
